We're looking for creative, thoughtful, and motivated people who want to be part of what we're building. We believe in working together, sharing ideas, and figuring things out along the way. If that sounds like your kind of team, we'd love to meet you!

Open Roles
SVG
File Designer
We're excited to expand The SVG Society's design team and are looking for a talented, detail-oriented designer to join us in a part-time, independent contractor role.
Compensation: Starting at $35/hour
Hours: Approximately 12–20 hours per week, with potential for additional hours
Location: Remote, with flexible scheduling
Our designers typically complete and test each design in approximately four hours, with a goal of producing 3–5 finished designs per week. All designs created as part of this role will be owned exclusively by The SVG Society.
How Our Design Team Works
We offer a flexible, collaborative environment where designers can manage their own schedules while contributing to a shared creative vision.
Our team meets virtually on Mondays to review upcoming projects, brainstorm ideas, and plan for the week ahead. We work from curated art collections and established design concepts, so you won't be starting entirely from scratch. Designers also have the opportunity to choose projects that align with their interests and strengths.
We're looking for creative partners, not just designers who complete assigned projects. We love working with people who bring fresh ideas, enjoy brainstorming, and want to help shape our upcoming collections. Whether it's spotting a new trend, suggesting a product concept, or finding a creative solution, your ideas and input are genuinely valued.
Outside of our weekly meetings and agreed-upon deadlines, you're free to structure your work hours in a way that works best for you.
Requirements
Own a laser cutting machine and have experience working with laser-cut materials and projects.
Test every design on your own laser to ensure files are accurate, functional, and ready for our members to use.
Have experience with vector design software, preferably Adobe Illustrator, and be comfortable creating clean, production-ready SVG files.
Be detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage projects independently and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
Enjoy creative collaboration, including sharing ideas, brainstorming new products, and contributing to the team's creative direction.
A Note About Potential Conflicts of Interest
Because our team openly collaborates on design plans and upcoming collections six months or more in advance, our ideal long-term candidate is not actively operating or building a competing SVG design shop. This helps us maintain confidentiality and avoid potential conflicts of interest.
However, we absolutely encourage prospective designers to continue creating and selling physical products! We love working with makers who understand the laser industry firsthand.
Our Hiring Process & Timeline
We know the holiday season is one of the busiest times of year for makers! While we'll be completing our hiring process this fall, our new team members won't officially begin until January 2027, allowing everyone to wrap up their holiday season before jumping into their new role.
Phase 1: Application
Application Deadline: November 6
Complete THIS FORM to tell us a little about yourself and share examples of your work. We'll review applications and contact selected candidates by November 10 with an invitation to move on to Phase 2.
Phase 2: Paid Sample Project
November 10–24
Time: 4-8 hours
Selected candidates will complete a paid sample design project to showcase their creativity and technical skills. We'll provide a video walkthrough with project details and reimburse any materials needed to create and test the design. All projects must be submitted by November 24.
Phase 3: Zoom Interviews
Beginning December 2
Finalists will be invited to a Zoom interview to discuss their work, learn more about the position, and see if we're a great fit for each other. Following interviews, we'll extend offers to our selected candidates.
Customer Support
Specialist
We're looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Customer Support Specialist who loves helping people and creating positive customer experiences.
As part of our growing team, you'll help support our community of makers and small business owners, answering questions, solving problems, and making sure every interaction reflects the warmth and helpfulness of The SVG Society.
Compensation: Starting at $20–$25/hour, depending on experience
Hours: Approximately 10–15 hours per week, with potential for additional hours as we grow
Location: Remote, part-time independent contractor
Start Date: December 2026
About the Role
Your primary responsibility will be responding to questions and comments on our Facebook and Instagram ads, helping potential and current members better understand The SVG Society and what we offer.
You'll also assist with our customer service inbox, answering questions about subscriptions, file downloads, shop credits, and other membership-related needs.
We're looking for someone who communicates with warmth and professionalism, enjoys helping others, and takes initiative to find solutions.
You'll be one of the first points of contact for many of our customers, so your ability to make people feel heard, supported, and valued is especially important.
Key Responsibilities
Facebook & Instagram Ad Engagement:
Monitor and respond to questions and comments on our ads, providing friendly, helpful, and accurate information about The SVG Society.
Customer Service Inbox:
Assist with incoming customer emails, including membership questions, billing inquiries, file access, and troubleshooting.
Problem Solving: Research customer concerns, find solutions independently when possible, and know when to bring more complex issues to the team.
Customer Experience: Represent The SVG Society with warmth, patience, and professionalism, even when handling difficult questions or frustrated customers.
Team Communication:
Share recurring questions, customer feedback, and opportunities to improve the customer experience.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent written communication skills with a warm, natural, and professional tone.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple customer conversations accurately.
- A proactive, resourceful problem-solver who is comfortable researching answers and learning new systems.
- Experience with customer service, social media engagement, or online business support.
- Dependability, consistency, and the ability to work independently.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and a genuine desire to help others.
Bonus Qualifications
- Familiarity with laser cutting, SVG files, or the maker community.
- Experience with Shopify, subscription-based businesses, or customer service platforms.
- Experience managing Facebook and Instagram ad comments through Meta Business Suite.
- Some weekend availability.
Schedule & Availability
This is a flexible, remote position, but we're looking for someone who can check in consistently throughout the week rather than completing all their hours in one or two blocks.
Because much of this role involves responding to active ad comments and customer questions, timely communication is important. You'll need to be available for regular check-ins during the week to review new messages, respond to questions, and help keep conversations moving.
We don't expect you to be online all day, and there's flexibility in how you structure your schedule. However, this position is best suited for someone who can spread their 10–15 hours across multiple days rather than working a few longer shifts.
Weekend availability is a plus, but not a requirement, as our ads continue running and customer questions come in throughout the weekend.
How Our Team Works
We're a small, supportive, fully remote team that values kindness, initiative, and collaboration. We love working with people who take ownership of their responsibilities, communicate openly, and look for ways to make things better. As The SVG Society continues to grow, there may be opportunities to take on additional hours and responsibilities.
Our Hiring Process & Timeline
We're excited to grow our customer experience team before the year is over! We're looking for someone who can join us in December and help support our growing community of makers.
Phase 1: Application
Application Deadline: November 6
Complete our application form to tell us about yourself and your experience. We'll review applications and contact selected candidates by November 10 with an invitation to interview.
Phase 2: Zoom Interviews
Beginning November 16
Selected candidates will be invited to a Zoom interview to discuss their experience, learn more about the role, and see if we're a great fit for each other.
Anticipated Start Date: Early December 2026
We'll extend offers following interviews, with the goal of welcoming our newest team member and beginning onboarding before Christmas.
We're excited to welcome another friendly face to The SVG Society team and look forward to getting to know you!
Shopify &
E-Commerce
Expert
We're dreaming up a better website. Could you help us bring it to life?
The SVG Society is growing, and we're ready to take our Shopify store to the next level!
We've built a thriving membership community of makers, and as our business expands, so does the complexity of the systems behind it. We have big plans for improving our website, streamlining our backend operations, and creating a smoother experience for our members.
We're hoping to connect with a Shopify expert who can help us make it happen! Someone who combines strong technical expertise with an eye for clean, modern web design and loves solving problems, improving systems, and making online businesses run more efficiently.
What We're Dreaming Of
Someone who can help us:
-Optimize our Shopify backend: Improve the systems, settings, workflows, and integrations that keep our store running smoothly.
-Improve our subscription experience: Work with Appstle and other integrations to troubleshoot issues, improve membership functionality, and create a seamless experience for our subscribers.
-Troubleshoot & problem-solve: Investigate technical issues, app conflicts, and unexpected errors, and implement reliable solutions.
-Build & maintain our website: Create and update landing pages, product pages, and other website content using Shopify and PageFly.
-Improve the customer experience: Identify friction points in the shopping, checkout, and membership management processes.
-Streamline our operations: Find opportunities to automate repetitive tasks, simplify workflows, and improve efficiency.
-Keep our website looking polished: Maintain a clean, modern, user-friendly website that feels consistent with our existing branding.
-Think ahead: Proactively identify potential issues and recommend improvements that will support our business as it expands.
Who We'd Love to Meet
We're hoping to connect with someone who has extensive hands-on Shopify experience, especially with subscription-based businesses.
You might be a Shopify developer, an e-commerce operations specialist, or a technical consultant who enjoys getting into the details of how an online business works.
More than anything, we're looking for someone who can take the technical side of our Shopify store off our plate. Someone we can trust to solve problems, improve our systems, and help us build a website that's ready for what's next.
What This Opportunity Could Look Like
This opportunity will initially be project-based, with the potential to develop into an ongoing role.
Our first priority is getting our Shopify store and backend systems where we want them to be. We're looking for someone who can evaluate our current setup, identify opportunities for improvement, and help us implement solutions.
Longer term, we'd love to find someone who could become a trusted technical partner, helping us maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize our website as our business continues to expand.
We're still defining the scope of the initial project, so we don't have set hours or a compensation range just yet. We're hoping to connect with the right person and work out the details together.
Think You Might Be Our Person (or have a person to recommend)?
We'd love to hear from you!
If you're a Shopify expert who loves solving technical challenges, improving systems, and helping online businesses run more efficiently, please reach out!
Tell us a little about yourself, your Shopify experience, and the types of projects you've worked on. We'd especially love to hear about your experience with subscription-based businesses and how you think you could help The SVG Society.
